[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] LH announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting tenants for jeonse rental housing targeting newlyweds, youth, and children aging out of care.

Jeonse rental housing is housing where LH signs a jeonse contract for the housing desired by eligible tenants so that low-income groups in urban areas can continue to live in their current living area, and then re-rents it at an affordable price.

The recruitment targets are △ newlyweds (Type I and II) △ youth △ children aging out of care, with different eligibility criteria, rental periods, and support limits depending on the type.

The eligibility for newlywed jeonse rental housing includes △ (prospective) newlyweds within 7 years of marriage who are members of a household without home ownership △ single-parent families and married households with children aged 6 or younger, classified into newlywed Type I and Type II according to income and asset criteria.

For youth jeonse rental housing, unmarried non-homeowners who are △ between 19 and 39 years old △ university students who are recipients of livelihood, medical, or housing benefits, belong to the lower-income bracket, or are single-parent families under protection can apply.

For children aging out of care jeonse rental housing, unmarried non-homeowners who △ have ended foster care under the 「Child Welfare Act」 or △ have left child welfare facilities within the last 5 years (including those scheduled to leave) are eligible to apply.

The number of units available for recruitment is 13,500 for newlywed jeonse rental housing, 10,500 for youth jeonse rental housing, and there is no limit on the number of units for children aging out of care jeonse rental housing.

The application period for newlywed jeonse rental housing (Type II) is from the 1st to the 23rd of next month, while newlywed jeonse rental housing (Type I), youth, and children aging out of care types are recruited year-round. All types can only be applied for online through the LH subscription center.

An LH official said, "We expect that the jeonse rental project supporting various groups such as newlyweds, youth, and children aging out of care will alleviate housing instability for non-homeowning households, and we will continue to improve the system to increase tenant satisfaction in the future."
