[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Kim Jong-in, the Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, criticized Ahn Cheol-soo, the People’s Party candidate for Seoul mayor, saying, "I think he made promises he could not keep in an attempt to selectively use the results from various polling agencies."

On the morning of the 19th, Candidate Ahn held a press conference and stated that he would accept the unification polling method requested by the People Power Party. However, Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate, dismissed this by saying, "It is only acceptance in words, but there are no concrete details," causing confusion.

At the People Power Party meeting for Seoul mayor candidates and Seoul party committee chairpersons that day, Chairman Kim said, "Suddenly today, the other side spoke as if this negotiation could be completely resolved, but their subsequent statements did not align, so I cannot accept that they spoke with sincerity."

He added, "Looking at the general trend of the polls, I thought about why the other side suddenly made such statements today. I expect that after the weekend, on Monday and Tuesday, results from various polling agencies will be released. Although we cannot predict in advance, we can roughly guess how the results will come out. I think they tried to selectively use this and made promises they could not keep."

Chairman Kim also emphasized, "This is a situation where patience and time are needed. You must have confidence that our candidate Oh Se-hoon, chosen by the People Power Party, will become the unified candidate and lead the election to victory."

At the same meeting, Candidate Oh said, "As the deadline approaches, various twists and turns occur, and there will be many struggles to overcome the final hurdle. One of the obstacles to overcome happened today in the form of a minor incident."
