According to Geoje-si, as of the morning of the 17th, 12 employees of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and its partner companies have been infected with COVID-19.
All of them work at the Okpo Shipyard in Geoje.
Since the 13th, 'Nth generation infections' originating from entertainment establishments and bathhouses have occurred in Geoje-si. The bathhouses and entertainment establishments where the cluster infections began are located in Okpo-dong.
Centered around Okpo-dong, confirmed cases are pouring out in Ajou-dong and Jangseungpo-dong, where the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Okpo Shipyard is located.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering stated that they are not yet considering halting operations.
A company official said, "Since the employees were infected with COVID-19 outside the company, we are strengthening internal quarantine measures while closely monitoring the trend of community infections."
