Izmedia Appoints Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg's Sister as Outside Director... "Will Kickstart New Business"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Izmedia is recruiting outside directors including Randy Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, and executives from major domestic conglomerates.

On the 16th, Izmedia announced that it plans to appoint Randy Zuckerberg, former CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) of Facebook, the major shareholder of Oculus, Oh Seongmok, former president of KT Network Division, and Lee Wonjun, vice chairman of Lotte Group's Distribution BU Division, as outside directors.

Randy Zuckerberg graduated from Harvard University with a degree in psychology and built her career as a marketing officer at the advertising company Ogilvy & Mather. At the request of her younger brother, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, she joined Facebook in 2004 and served as the company spokesperson and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). She played a key role in growing Facebook from a startup company into the global company it is today. In addition, Oh Seongmok, former president of KT Network Division, and Lee Wonjun, former vice chairman of Lotte Group's Distribution Division, will also be recruited.

Izmedia, which was listed on the KOSDAQ market in 2017, is a specialized company with the best technology and quality in the field of CCM (Compact Camera Module) inspection equipment, supplying equipment for smartphone dual cameras and automotive camera modules. Although sales and profits declined last year due to the US-China trade dispute, it is expected that the trade dispute will ease with the election of President Biden, and existing businesses are expected to recover quickly.

The securities industry expects Izmedia to combine e-commerce with the 5G VR market based on 3D TOF technology. An Izmedia official said, "This year, our goal is to make it the first year of transformation into a new company by recovering existing businesses to the usual level and rapidly growing the new businesses we are actively pursuing."
