[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] PIMS announced on the 15th that the groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory located in Gojan-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City was held on the 12th, marking the official start of construction.
About 70 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony held on the site of PIMS' new factory, including Lee Kang-ho, Mayor of Namdong-gu, Ko Jun-su, Incheon Metropolitan City Council member, Lee Heon-gu, Senior Vice Chairman of the Incheon Namdong-gu Business Association, and other officials.
Construction of PIMS' new factory will officially begin with the groundbreaking ceremony. The factory will be built on a 2,000-pyeong site with three above-ground floors, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for an OLED metal mask factory, covering a total floor area of 3,000 pyeong. The company expects that once the factory is completed and production facilities are stabilized, production capacity for product exports will increase in the future.
Kim Young-joo, CEO of PIMS, said, "We expect production capacity to be dramatically enhanced to meet the demands of customers requiring a higher level of products."
The new factory construction is expected to be completed by October, after which PIMS-related facilities and affiliates are anticipated to move in sequentially.
