Free education, email applications accepted until March 16... Recruiting 10 unemployed Seoul residents aged 18-39, preference for local housing management cooperative members
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Chae Hyun-il) and Yeongdeungpo Youth Architecture School are recruiting young prospective architects to participate in the ‘Our Neighborhood Housing Improvement Management Enterprise Establishment Project,’ where they can learn overall home repair skills such as interior work and wallpapering, until March 16.
The ‘Our Neighborhood Housing Improvement Management Enterprise Establishment Project’ is a virtuous cycle housing environment improvement model that educates local youth in comprehensive home repair professional skills to improve deteriorated housing conditions, and helps graduates form social economy organizations or participate as cooperative members.
The education target is unemployed youth aged 18 to 39 residing in Seoul, with priority given to those who will later participate as members of the ‘Our Neighborhood Housing Management Enterprise’ cooperative.
The total number of recruits is 10, and youth residing in Yeongdeungpo-gu will be given preference during selection.
Additionally, follow-up plans include on-site home repair training and entrepreneurship support courses for graduates.
The curriculum starts with ▲basic interior education, followed by ▲home repair diagnosis, preparation work, and paint application ▲wallpaper installation ▲electrical wiring and tile installation ▲bathroom fixtures and accessories, and flooring installation, with the final 6 to 8 weeks dedicated to ▲practical home repair construction and on-site training.
The education period runs for about two months from March 30 to May 26, and the tuition is completely free.
The overall schedule and course content may be flexibly changed depending on the COVID-19 spread situation.
Youth wishing to apply can download the application form from the Yeongdeungpo Youth Architecture School website and submit the completed form via email to the person in charge (seoulydp2018@naver.com) by March 16.
