[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] As emergency fine dust reduction measures were implemented in the metropolitan area, the Ministry of Education has also begun inspecting school site responses.

On the 11th, the Ministry of Education announced that it will provide guidance on actions according to the 'Air Pollution Response Manual' and conduct monitoring of schools in areas with high concentrations of fine dust.

According to the implementation of the 2nd Seasonal Management Plan, when emergency fine dust reduction measures are enforced, schools must operate air purifiers and shorten or prohibit outdoor classes. In severe cases, academic schedules may also be adjusted.

To check the status of fine dust response at school sites, Lee Seungbok, Director of the Education Safety Information Bureau at the Ministry of Education, plans to visit Pungseong Elementary School in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the 12th.

The Ministry of Education stated that it will continue to work together with education offices and frontline schools to create a safe educational environment from fine dust.
