[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Electronics announced on the 11th that it has supplied its laundry and drying appliance, the 'Tromm WashTower,' to 1,100 residential units in a residential lifestyle accommodation facility that recently began occupancy in Byeollae New Town, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. This marks the first business-to-business (B2B) transaction for the Tromm WashTower.
LG Electronics evaluated, "This supply is the result of customers recognizing the Tromm WashTower's differentiated design and convenience." The WashTower is a product that integrates a washing machine and dryer into one unit. Recently, as kitchens and balconies in apartments have expanded, the space for washing and drying has decreased, making the space efficiency of integrated products highly valued.
According to LG Electronics, the Tromm WashTower is designed to eliminate unnecessary cords and gaps and does not require a separate pedestal, allowing users to conveniently load and unload laundry and manage the filter. Considering operational convenience, the product height was lowered by about 87 mm compared to installing drum washing machines and dryers of the same class stacked vertically. The dryer features a 'TrueSteam' function that boils water to 100 degrees Celsius, which LG Electronics explains is effective for deodorization, sterilization, and reducing wrinkles in fabrics. The AI Direct Drive (DD) washing machine equipped in the WashTower detects the weight of the clothing and then helps identify the fabric type using big data.
LG Electronics also supplied smart appliances and the LG ThinQ Home solution to all units uniformly. Residents can control six types of LG Electronics smart appliances?including the WashTower, Styler, steam dishwasher, refrigerator, kimchi refrigerator, and system air conditioner?via a dedicated smartphone application. Additionally, this app allows access to shared services within the complex such as elevator calls, unmanned parcel delivery, and parking location confirmation.
Yoon Sung-woon, Head of Living Appliance Marketing at LG Electronics, said, "Based on product competitiveness, such as the Tromm WashTower, which is gaining popularity for its differentiated design and convenience, we will provide customers with a different level of value in the B2B home appliance market."
