Hamyang-gun Holds Report Meeting to Discover New Customized Population Growth Measures

Discovery of 18 Policies in 6 Areas Including Youth, Jobs, Housing, and Childcare

A report meeting is being held to discover new customized population increase policies for Hamyang-gun.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that it held a report meeting to discover new customized population increase measures for Hamyang-gun, with about 20 people including the main office officers, department heads, and section chiefs attending in the small conference room of the county office.

The report meeting served as an opportunity to deeply discuss the promotion plans for the 'Hamyang-gun Customized Population Increase Measures' research project final report conducted in January and the policies independently discovered by the county.

Looking at the main policies, 18 measures in 6 areas were discovered, including ▲job-linked support housing construction ▲operation of discount stores for pregnant women and multi-child families ▲housing settlement support ▲providing incentives for youth employment and start-ups in Hamyang, among others.

The county plans to actively respond to the population decline issue by reflecting these policies in the county's population increase measures through future amendments to the 'Hamyang-gun Population Increase Support Ordinance.'

Seo Chun-soo, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, said, “Increasing the population is an issue that all departments must consider together, not just a single department,” and added, “We will do our best to respond to population decline by linking the newly discovered policies in various fields such as housing and jobs with existing policies.”
