Operation of Forest Experience Adventure Program from October 17 to November 7
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam, will start operating five infant forest experience events, including the Jinhae Cypress Infant Forest Experience Center, from the 17th.
The infant forest experience centers operated by Changwon City include the Cypress Forest in the Healing Forest (Jangboksan) in Jinhae-gu, and the Hyundong Infant Forest Experience Center in Hyundong Neighborhood Park, Masanhappo-gu, which has been established and operated since 2019.
The Dalcheon in Uichang-gu, Seongsan (174-2 Seongju-dong), and Ssalsa재 Infant Forest Experience Centers in Masanhoewon-gu were created last year and have been operated on a trial basis, with plans for official operation starting this year.
This year's infant forest experience centers will operate from the 17th until November 7th.
Participating institutions will be publicly recruited through the city website and kindergarten and daycare associations until the 11th, and participating institutions will be selected by lottery.
The city will assign two infant forest instructors to each infant forest experience center, and the instructors will conduct forest interpretation programs and guide the children.
The infant forest experience centers are free of charge and have been continuously promoted since 2018 as a project to create a "child-friendly city."
Lee Jong-geun, Director of the Green City Project Office, said, "The infant forest experience centers are educational places where infants can develop their five senses, including adventurous spirit and creativity, through forest experiences from an early age. This year, we plan to create two additional centers."
