At the opening ceremony, Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, said, “I believe that what is most Gwangju-like is the greatest competitiveness,” and added, “We will strive to further promote and develop the meaning that Gwangju holds through Gwangju songs.”

The ‘Gwangju Song Exhibition,’ which runs until the 31st, gathers songs by singers from Gwangju and songs containing the spirit of the times and ‘Gwangju-ness’ by era, and is held at the Jeonil Building, the historic site of May 1980, giving it even more special significance.
