[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The number of people in Seoul who have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has surpassed 48,000. The vaccination rate among inpatients and staff at nursing hospitals has begun to exceed 77%, and the vaccination rate among residents and staff at nursing facilities has also surpassed 63%.


According to Seoul City on the 9th, as of midnight that day, the number of COVID-19 vaccine recipients in Seoul alone was counted at 48,715. The number of new vaccinations on the previous day was recorded at 11,465.


Since the start of COVID-19 vaccinations on the 26th of last month, the vaccination rate among inpatients and staff at nursing hospitals was found to be 77.5%. Following that, the vaccination rate among residents and staff at nursing facilities was 63.3%, and the vaccination rate among first responders to COVID-19 was 9.0%.


At medical institutions in Seoul at the hospital level or higher, where vaccinations have been ongoing since the 4th, 26,519 people, about 30% of the total, have received the vaccine. The vaccination rate among staff at the National Medical Center, which treats COVID-19 patients, was counted at 23.9% (3,057 people).


Meanwhile, as of the previous day, a total of 573 cases suspected of adverse reactions after vaccination were reported in Seoul. This accounts for about 1.2% of vaccine recipients. Among the reported adverse reaction cases, 98.7% were symptoms such as vomiting, fever, and nausea.
