Geochang County Council Adopts Resolution to Attract 'Hydrogen Equipment Inspection Support Center'

Full Support for All County Council Members' Active Participation in Impeachment

All members of the Geochang County Council are actively supporting the attraction of the Hydrogen Equipment Inspection Support Center.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Geochang County Council in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that all county council members participated in the bid to attract the ‘Hydrogen Products Inspection Support Center’ currently under public contest in Geochang County, adopting a resolution to actively support the attraction of the center to Geochang.

In the resolution, the council stated, “We strongly urge the attraction of the Hydrogen Products Inspection Support Center to Geochang County, which is located at the geographic center of the country with excellent accessibility, covering major cities nationwide,” and emphasized again, “In line with government policy directions and for the balanced development and economic revitalization of the underserved northwestern Gyeongnam region, the Hydrogen Products Inspection Support Center must be attracted to Geochang County.”

Chairman Kim Jong-du said, “Based on the experience of attracting a similar public institution, the Elevator Safety Technology Institute, we will actively support all necessary activities for attracting the center to Geochang County, and will strive to provide administrative, financial, and policy support after the attraction.”

The Hydrogen Products Inspection Support Center is a key institution responsible for inspecting various hydrogen products and the safety sector of the hydrogen industry. It conducts inspections of hydrogen extraction facilities, water electrolysis facilities, hydrogen product manufacturing facilities, and promotes hydrogen product evaluation and certification projects.

If attracted to Geochang County, it is expected to increase the floating population with 120 resident personnel and annual training of about 6,000 people, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
