Decentralized Identifier is a technology that stores personal information on personal devices such as smartphones, allowing individuals to own and control the use of their information.
The 'Gyeongnam Electronic Wallet' is a blockchain-based digital service that enables residents to store digital cards such as the Gyeongnam Resident Card and Gyeongnam Representative Library Membership Card on their smartphones to verify identity and use public services.
Residents who have been issued the Gyeongnam Resident Card can receive their membership card on their mobile devices.
Also, when using public facilities, users can prove their eligibility for fee reductions through the 'Gyeongnam Electronic Wallet' app.
The public facilities currently in pilot operation are the Gyeongsangnam-do Arboretum and Jinhae Marine Park.
At the Gyeongsangnam-do Arboretum, visitors can visit the ticket office and present a QR code or detailed information to verify eligibility for discounts. At Jinhae Marine Park, scanning the QR code allows confirmation of discount eligibility.
The province announced plans to provide a service that allows access to Busan City Hall with a mobile visitor pass through linkage with the blockchain-based decentralized identity verification system currently implemented in Busan Metropolitan City.
To use the app, search for and install 'Gyeongnam Electronic Wallet' on Google Play or the App Store.
