[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] A pack of hunting dogs breaking into a home and killing cats and chickens has caused shock.

On the 7th, a post titled "Poacher dogs killed our animals" was uploaded on the online community board BobaeDream.

According to the author, who introduced herself as a 65-year-old woman, on the 6th, about 7 to 10 hunting dogs without leashes or muzzles broke into a home in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, attacking cats and chickens.

The author also captured and shared CCTV footage. The photos showed hunting dogs attacking cats and chickens, and the dog owners leaving the scene.

According to the writer, two cats and two chickens were reported to have been harmed.

The author expressed frustration, saying, "I was trembling, and the dead animals kept flashing before my eyes. When I reported it to 112, the police said things like, 'Are you going to file a report? Even if you do, it’s just a fine,' which was infuriating."

She then asked, "How can we punish and discipline the poachers?"

Later, through comments, the author stated that the incident was reported to the Paju-si Beopwon-eup police station, and the police have started an investigation.

She also said, "(The dog owners) did not show up before the investigation began, but after the news came out, they came looking to negotiate a settlement."

Meanwhile, all pet dogs, especially dangerous breeds, must wear leashes when outside, and owners are fined if they violate this rule.

Additionally, if a dog attacks and kills or injures another animal, the owner can be punished for property damage.
