[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] A woman in her 20s was arrested by the police in Geoje, Gyeongnam, after stabbing her husband multiple times with a weapon, suspecting his infidelity.

On the 8th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that they had apprehended the wife, A (29), on suspicion of attempted murder.

A is accused of stabbing her husband, B (27), several times on his shoulder and other parts of his body with a weapon around 10:40 a.m. that day. However, it was reported that B's life is not in danger.

After the incident, B called 119 himself and is currently being treated for his wounds at a nearby hospital.

The couple, who married in 2019, reportedly got into an argument after A began suspecting B of having relationships with other women, which led to the crime.

According to the police investigation, A was also found to have wielded a weapon against B for similar reasons in October last year. At that time, A was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but has been undergoing trial without detention.

Since then, the two have been living separately. However, it was reported that they met at a motel on the 7th, drank together, and the situation escalated into an argument.

However, during the police investigation, A stated, "My husband harmed himself. I never wielded a weapon," denying the crime.

The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the incident and decide whether to apply for an arrest warrant for A.
