Visang Education WiseCamp Provides Comprehensive Learning from Elementary Diagnostic Assessment Preparation to All Subjects

The Ministry of Education is conducting a 'Basic Academic Skills Diagnostic Assessment' to evaluate the academic abilities of all students as a measure against learning gaps and learning loss.

The 2021 Basic Academic Skills Diagnostic Assessment, held this month, is scheduled for students from 1st grade in elementary school through 1st grade in high school. Some schools have already conducted the assessment according to their academic calendars, while many others will take it this week.

In particular, for the elementary school Basic Academic Skills Diagnostic Assessment, if a student scores 60 points or below in at least one subject, they are classified as 'not meeting the standard' and must participate in basic academic skills education with parental consent. Because of this, parents of students about to take the elementary assessment are highly concerned about how to prepare, and parents whose children have already taken the assessment are deeply worried about how to support their children's learning going forward.

WiseCamp, an elementary math textbook publisher under Visang Education, is introducing diagnostic assessment content and subject learning content designed to bridge learning gaps based on the assessment results for students preparing for the elementary diagnostic assessment.

First, the diagnostic assessment content covers textbook study and exam preparation, and can be checked through the diagnostic assessment itself. The diagnostic assessments provided by WiseCamp are based on the March 2021 academic year and are divided by all grades into first semester, second semester, and full range.

For 2nd and 3rd graders, diagnostic assessments can be conducted in Korean, Math, and Basleul subjects, while for 4th to 6th graders, assessments can be conducted in Korean, Math, Social Studies, and Science. Moreover, students can retake the diagnostic assessments to clearly identify areas of weakness.

Additionally, after taking the diagnostic assessment, further learning is possible through subject learning (Visual Thinking). WiseCamp’s unique learning content, Visual Thinking learning, greatly helps children keep up with their academic progress. Visual Thinking learning is a method of visualizing and structuring difficult concepts, which aids students’ memory and expressive abilities. WiseCamp supports Visual Thinking learning across all subjects to ensure there are no gaps in following the curriculum. Furthermore, premium English and Math learning content tailored by level and proficiency is provided to help children adapt well to school progress.

An official stated, “Students who have not been able to study properly over the past year due to COVID-19 may receive poor results in the elementary diagnostic assessment,” and added, “Therefore, WiseCamp allows students to take the diagnostic assessment in advance to check their learning status and prepare for the elementary diagnostic assessment conducted by the Ministry of Education.”

Meanwhile, WiseCamp is currently running a free trial promotion in March. By simply applying for the free trial, participants can receive prizes worth about 20 million KRW, including Samsung Electronics Bespoke refrigerators, Air Dressers, laptops, Starbucks coffee, pizza, and more. Detailed information is available on the official WiseCamp website.
