[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is conducting the "2021 First Half Children's Playground Facilities Inspection" to create a safe environment for children to use playground equipment.
This inspection is being carried out in accordance with the "Children's Playground Facilities Safety Management Act," targeting a total of 329 locations where children's playground facilities are installed in the area, including ▲221 apartment complexes ▲47 daycare centers ▲45 urban parks ▲5 child welfare facilities ▲8 religious facilities and playground service businesses ▲3 hygiene establishments.
The district is conducting a phased inspection, with the first phase running until the 12th. The responsible departments of the district office and facility management entities are conducting a full inspection to check ▲whether the management entities are fulfilling their safety management obligations ▲the safety management status of the facilities and compliance with facility standards ▲and adherence to COVID-19 quarantine rules.
Additionally, for facilities identified with issues such as failure to fulfill legal obligations during the first phase inspection, an on-site joint inspection will be conducted with Seoul city officials and private experts in children's playground safety inspections.
The district plans to take measures to ensure that minor issues and those requiring repairs or replacements are improved within the deadline, and will recommend that outdated or hazardous facilities undergo detailed diagnosis by specialized institutions.
Furthermore, based on the inspection results, administrative actions such as fines will be imposed on facilities found to have violated management obligations two or more times.
Im Changseop, the Safety and Disaster Officer, stated, "Through a full inspection of children's playground facilities, we will do our best to manage the facilities so that children can play freely in a safer environment."
Meanwhile, the district conducted two inspections of children's playground facilities in the first and second halves of last year, addressing a total of 96 issues, including ▲32 cases of poor facility management ▲64 cases of failure to fulfill safety management obligations such as not completing safety education and not subscribing to insurance.
