[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] An interview with Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle, who separated from the British royal family and settled in the United States, will be released soon. As public interest rises over what kind of 'revelations' they will continue to make, reports have emerged that the British royal family is firmly preparing for this.

On the 7th (local time), foreign media including the UK's Sunday Times cited an anonymous royal source saying, "If Prince Harry and his wife attack the royal family, we will not remain silent."

Although the official royal policy is to maintain silence, they warned that if any harmful remarks about the royal family are broadcast, they may expose the past conduct of Prince Harry and his wife.

A senior royal official hinted, "The response could vary greatly depending on whether Prince Harry and his wife target the royal institution or the royal family," indicating that the British royal family is on high alert regarding their risky actions.

Another official claimed, "There are many untold anecdotes about Prince Harry and his wife," and added, "They are playing a dangerous game of 'fire' with high risks."

Earlier, Meghan, Prince Harry's wife, has appeared in the media several times since becoming independent from the royal family in January last year, revealing experiences she had within the royal family, attracting worldwide attention.

On the 7th (local time), she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show on CBS in the United States, saying, "It is surprising that the royal family expects us to just keep quiet when they try to make lies about us a fait accompli," and "If there is a risk of losing something through this interview, we have already lost a lot." The preview of the broadcast included content suggesting that Meghan, who is of mixed Black heritage, was bullied within the royal family, which further fueled public interest.

However, just three days before the interview aired, sudden allegations of Meghan's 'power harassment' surfaced, turning the confrontation between the royal family and the Harry couple into a battle over the truth. The UK's The Times claimed that Meghan bullied two personal secretaries while living at Kensington Palace, effectively driving them out, and caused severe humiliation to one, with the harassed staff reportedly still trembling and often breaking into tears just thinking about Meghan.

Following the revelations and reports from royal staff, Buckingham Palace issued an immediate statement saying, "The royal family does not tolerate workplace bullying," and "We will summon current and former staff for an investigation."

Some speculate that the royal family's unusually sensitive reaction to this issue, unlike their usual conduct, might be a 'preemptive move' to check the Harry couple. However, the British royal family dismissed this, stating, "What the royal family wants to focus on is not the circus news about Oprah and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but the news about children returning to school next Monday and the effectiveness of the vaccination program."

As the British royal family emphasized that they will respond to issues more important than 'family quarrels,' public interest in the untold stories that Prince Harry and his wife will reveal in the upcoming broadcast is further heightened.
