[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is introducing a richer and more substantial self-directed learning support program to welcome 2021.
Since opening the Self-Directed Learning Support Center in 2014, the district has operated the Career Experience Support Center and University Admission Information Center within the center, providing a one-stop education program that combines career exploration, learning competency enhancement, and college admission.
This year, the Career Experience Support Center will diversify school-linked career experience programs such as ▲Cheongjingi (The Miracle of Youth Career Experience) ▲8-in-8 Colorful Job Experiences ▲8-in-8 Colorful Department Experiences ▲Career Concert through Theater ▲School-tailored Nabi Career Special Lectures ▲Nabi TV Live ▲Career Mentoring, focusing on differentiated learning and career consulting operations.
Additionally, to help more youth accurately analyze their tendencies and strengths, a new ‘Nabi Self-Understanding Class’ using professional psychological testing tools will be introduced and operated.
The ‘Nabi Self-Understanding Class’ is an advanced career exploration program that helps students understand themselves and design their career direction by utilizing various analytical tools such as MBTI (Personal Tendency Analysis), STRONG (Career Exploration Test), GST Gardner (Career Strength Test), and Burckman Test (Lifestyle Mapping).
Course registration and application details for the Nabi program can be found on the official website of the Yeongdeungpo Career Experience Support Center.
The University Admission Information Center provides customized learning methods and curricular and extracurricular learning information considering each student's personal tendencies, grade patterns, and school-specific learning environments.
During the college application period, the center will hold consulting sessions for early and regular admissions and admission briefings to present the optimal college admission success portfolio, striving to improve the college admission rate of local examinees.
This year, the center will continue to operate ▲1:1 consultations with admission experts ▲visiting career and admission consulting ▲special lectures on major subject learning methods and school record management ▲parent consultant training courses ▲special lectures on self-introduction letters, essays, and interviews ▲early and regular college admission briefings ▲and visiting admission briefings.
Detailed schedules and application methods can be checked on the Yeongdeungpo University Admission Information Center website.
Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “Despite the crisis of COVID-19, we have been striving to create an uninterrupted educational environment by operating various customized learning support programs. We will earnestly promote educational welfare projects that can provide practical help for young people to achieve their dreams and visions and to design their own futures.”
