On the same day, Park said through his Facebook, "I am once again gathering my resolve one year before the presidential election for the change of the Democratic Party and the happiness of the people of the Republic of Korea. Please support and encourage me."

He emphasized, "If there is a field in Korea that needs to be most fiercely overhauled, it is none other than politics. The 20th presidential election must become a melting pot that embraces the Korean people's desire for change and the dynamism of the younger generation. Politics must become younger and move faster."

He continued, "I have decided to take on that role," and added, "I will lead the generational change in our politics and the era change of the Republic of Korea."

Park said, "I am traveling across the country, including Busan, Gwangju, Ulsan, Changwon, Yeosu, Suncheon, and Goheung, meeting comrades and sharing my thoughts," and added, "Although it is difficult and challenging, at a time when a courageous president who confronts unfairness and inequality and a wise leader are needed, I step forward as a young politician to take on my role."
