'Landlord Father-in-Law with 5 Lovers'... "Daughter-in-Law Hires Affair Secretary" (Sseolvival)

[Asia Economy Reporter Nana Han] A story about a landlord father-in-law who made his daughter-in-law his 'affair secretary' and had multiple lovers shocked viewers.

On the April 4th broadcast of KBS Joy's 'Sseol Survival,' a game was held to choose the worst father-in-law among two stories.

The first story featured a stylish landlord father-in-law well-known in the neighborhood, but while his mother-in-law was staying in a nursing home, he was a womanizer with four lovers.

This father-in-law forced his daughter-in-law to act as his affair secretary, assigning her the role of organizing the schedules of his four lovers, including anniversaries and date appointments.

The daughter-in-law wanted to quit out of guilt toward her mother-in-law, but reluctantly complied due to threats from the father-in-law to "get out of the house" and because her husband’s cafe was in the father-in-law’s building.

One day, the daughter-in-law mistakenly sent a message to two of the father-in-law’s lovers, leading to an incident where the two lovers appeared at the same cafe and grabbed each other's hair.

The father-in-law was angry at the daughter-in-law, who reluctantly went to the two lovers, knelt down, and begged. However, the father-in-law’s lovers blamed her, saying, "If a man is capable, there wouldn’t be just one or two women chasing him. If it weren’t for you, we would have sorted it out ourselves," and "While you’re living off your father-in-law, you should at least do your job properly."

After the mother-in-law in the nursing home passed away, the father-in-law’s four lovers began fiercely competing to take the vacant position of the main wife. They also started acting as mother-in-law to the daughter-in-law in advance. However, the father-in-law told the daughter-in-law to not let any of the four lovers attend his upcoming 70th birthday party.

Unable to endure it any longer, the daughter-in-law sent the four lovers identical hanbok and invitations to retaliate, and as she intended, all the lovers showed up at the 70th birthday party.

The 70th birthday party turned into a scene of chaos and destruction, and it became even more devastated when the father-in-law appeared late, arm in arm with a fifth lover about the daughter-in-law’s age.

Later, the divorced daughter-in-law recalled feeling only sorry toward her late real mother-in-law.

Participant Park Narae was horrified by the story and asked, "What would it be like if there were five mother-in-laws?" Kim Jimin replied, "I would plot a rebellion like this daughter-in-law. I would sow discord so the father-in-law gets hurt." However, Hwang Bora speculated, "A father-in-law like this wouldn’t get hurt and would only think the daughter-in-law is ungrateful."

Meanwhile, the second story’s father-in-law was proud of his son who graduated from a prestigious university and looked down on his daughter-in-law who graduated from a local university, treating her like an ATM. This father-in-law extorted money from the daughter-in-law to prepare a house for his prestigious university graduate son to live with his first love.

Park Narae, Hwang Bora, Kim Jimin, and guest Kim Suchan all said that the second father-in-law was better, as he at least did not have five mother-in-laws, despite extorting money from the daughter-in-law.
