[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Saturday the 6th, up to 15cm of snow is expected to fall in the Yeongdong region of Gangwon Province. Since a large amount of snow accumulated over the past weekend, caution is required for snow-related damage.
On the 5th, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that due to the influence of a high-pressure system located in northeastern China, rain or snow will fall on the 6th in Gangwon Yeongdong, the northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk. It will start as rain and is likely to change to snow by dawn, accumulating on the ground.
The expected snowfall on the 6th in the central and northern parts of Gangwon Yeongdong is 5 to 10cm, with some areas accumulating more than 15cm. Additionally, ▲ southern Gangwon Yeongdong 3 to 8cm ▲ northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk and northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk about 1 to 3cm are expected to accumulate.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "With a large amount of snow already accumulated in the Yeongdong region, the additional snow tomorrow may cause damage, so thorough preparation in advance is necessary, and special attention should be paid to traffic safety during the morning commute."

On Geumchip (the 5th), the whole country will be mostly clear, but many inland areas will have fog, so caution is needed for traffic safety. The daytime high temperature will be 12 to 20 degrees Celsius, about 4 to 5 degrees higher than yesterday. The daily temperature range will be very large at 10 to 20 degrees, so attention to health management such as immune system decline is necessary.
On the 6th, the sky will be mostly cloudy nationwide, and Gangwon Yeongdong and the East Coast of Gyeongbuk will be mostly cloudy. The morning low temperature will be 0 to 8 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high will be 0 to 16 degrees Celsius. On Sunday the 7th, the sky will be occasionally cloudy nationwide, and sporadic snow will fall until dawn on the East Coast of Gangwon. The morning low temperature is expected to be -5 to 5 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high 5 to 12 degrees Celsius.
The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "In Gangwon Province, where a large amount of snow has recently accumulated, temperatures will rise during the day causing melting, but will drop below freezing at night causing icy roads. Tomorrow, as snow falls again, visibility will decrease and many roads will be slippery due to accumulated snow, so special caution is required for traffic safety by reducing speed and maintaining distance between vehicles."
On the 6th, strong winds of 8 to 16 meters per second will blow along the coastal areas of Gyeongsang Province, so attention is needed for facility management and safety accidents. Winds of 8 to 16 meters per second will also blow strongly over the West Sea offshore, South Sea, Jeju Island waters, and East Sea offshore on the 6th, with waves rising 1.5 to 4.0 meters high, leading to storm warnings being issued in some sea areas.
