Geumcheon 50+ Center Spring Semester Courses Begin from the 8th

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will operate the first semester courses from the 8th at the ‘Geumcheon 50 Plus Center,’ a complex facility for life redesign for the 50+ generation.

The first semester courses are divided into three areas: the ‘Life Planning Area,’ which supports financial management, health management, relationship building, and cultural activities; the ‘Work and Activity Area,’ where participants use their expertise and experience to engage in social contribution activities; and the ‘Participant Support Area,’ where the 50+ generation can plan and create courses themselves.

Starting on March 8 with courses to enhance the digital capabilities of the 50+ generation such as ‘Computer Self-Repair for Beginners,’ ‘Easy Google with Smartphones,’ and ‘Challenge! My Own Blog Course,’ about 47 online courses across these areas will be sequentially offered until June.

Notable courses include ▲Youth Future Planning Specialist Instructor Training (Basic Level) ▲Startup? Smart Store ▲Basic Sign Language Class (Fairy Tale Interpretation Class) ▲Challenges of Social Enterprises for the New Middle-aged, aimed at successful employment and entrepreneurship for the 50+ generation.

For the 50+ generation exhausted by COVID-19, courses such as ▲Color Therapy for Happy Relationships and ▲Healing and Urban Drawing with Pen offer opportunities to heal from COVID blues.

Additionally, courses addressing key concerns of middle-aged and older adults about post-retirement asset management are about to start, including ▲50+ Online Life Second Act Planning ▲Understanding Digital Consumption and Finance ▲Credit and Risk Management after Retirement, and health-promoting lifestyle courses such as ▲Getting Healthy through Health Checkups and ▲Controlling the Three Highs (blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol) to become healthier.

Those in the 50+ generation wishing to take online courses can apply through the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center website.

Meanwhile, the ‘Geumcheon 50 Plus Center’ plans to operate only online courses if social distancing remains at level 2, and to conduct offline courses if the level is lowered to 1.5.

For more details, visit the ‘Geumcheon 50 Plus Center’ website or contact the center for guidance.
