Up to 2 Applications Per Person... 3 Final Outstanding Proposers to Receive 100,000 Won Gwanak Sarang Gift Certificates... Naming Contest for Facilities Usable by Everyone from Infants to Adults
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is currently soliciting name suggestions for the newly constructed “(tentative name) Gwanak-gu Family Culture Welfare Center,” which aims to open in the first half of this year.
The center is the district’s first attempt at a complex cultural welfare facility, accessible to all Gwanak residents?from infants and their families seeking various play facilities to residents interested in diverse employment and entrepreneurship programs such as cooking and baking, as well as personal media.
Construction began in June 2019, and despite temporary halts due to COVID-19, efforts to improve resident welfare have accelerated the project, which is currently 85% complete and progressing smoothly toward completion.
The facility is located at 8-4, Nambusunhwan-ro 149-gil (Sinsa-dong), with a total floor area of 3,999.8㎡, spanning from two basement levels to six floors above ground. Floors 1 to 4 will house play experience centers, toy and infant libraries, and a mother center for childcare; the 5th floor will include classrooms for women and adult program rooms; and the 6th floor will feature a village media center with single-person media rooms and studios.
The district is conducting a naming contest until the 8th to select a name that resonates with users and is beloved by residents through their participation.
The name should be concise and creative, reflecting the purpose of the complex cultural welfare facility and the unique characteristics of the district.
Residents wishing to participate can check the announcement on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News & Notices → Public Notices), then submit the application form with the proposed name and reasons either by visiting the Women and Family Division, fax, mail, or via email to the person in charge (pcn1004@ga.go.kr / 1t5n0tm3@ga.go.k).
Judging will comprehensively consider originality, symbolism, suitability, and popularity. The results will be announced on the 29th, and the top three selected proposals will each receive a Gwanak Love Gift Certificate worth 100,000 KRW as a prize.
For more detailed information regarding the naming contest, please contact the Women and Family Division.
Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “The (tentative name) Gwanak-gu Family Culture Welfare Center will operate diverse and rich programs targeting infants, women, and families, creating a comprehensive welfare and cultural space that satisfies everyone. We ask for your keen interest and active participation in the creative naming contest.”
