Seoul Scholarship Foundation to Provide Scholarships to 100 Outstanding Students from Low-Income Families... Applications Open from the 8th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Scholarship Foundation announced on the 5th that it will select 100 university students from low-income families who have strong academic motivation and excellent major grades.

Applicants must be third- or fourth-year university students from low-income families (basic livelihood security recipients or legally designated near-poor class) enrolled in a four-year university located in Seoul, or if they are children of Seoul citizens, students enrolled in universities nationwide are also eligible. Compared to last year, the eligibility has been expanded to allow Seoul citizens to apply even if they attend universities outside Seoul.

The application period is from 10 a.m. on the 8th to 5 p.m. on the 19th. Applications must be submitted online through the Seoul Scholarship Foundation website, followed by mailing the relevant documents.

The 100 selected scholarship recipients will each receive an annual scholarship of 4 million KRW, totaling 400 million KRW. The selection results are expected to be announced at the end of April.

Lee Dae-hyun, Acting Chairman, said, “We will strive to ensure that numerous talents who will lead the future of Seoul can grow without economic or environmental difficulties.”
