[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 4th that it started the 'Baby Resident Registration Card Issuance Service' from the 1st to commemorate the birth of babies and to promote a family-friendly social atmosphere.
The issuance of baby resident registration cards is targeted at households with babies born after January 1 of this year who wish to receive the card. Parents who want to apply can do so within three months from the date of birth at the nearest eup, myeon, or dong administrative welfare center.
To celebrate the first applicant family, Mayor Choi Young-jo personally delivered the baby resident registration card at the Amnyang-eup Administrative Welfare Center on the 4th. A congratulatory birth message containing the parents' wishes was also posted on the city’s homepage, providing a special memory and gift for the baby and parents.
Mayor Choi Young-jo said, "Although the baby resident registration card has no legal proof effect, it has great significance in commemorating and celebrating the joy of the precious birth of babies in this low birthrate era," and added, "We will continue to strive to create a Gyeongsan that is good for having and raising children by discovering various childbirth promotion policies."
