[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] NongHyup Central Association and NH NongHyup Life announced on the 4th that they will promote the 'Practice Safe Agriculture' campaign to raise safety awareness among farmers and create a safe rural environment.

At the 'Practice Safe Agriculture' national proclamation ceremony held at Anseong Farmland in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of NongHyup Central Association, Lee Gae-ho, Chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, and Maritime Fisheries Committee, Jeong Hyun-chan, Chairman of the Special Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Areas, and heads of related organizations and farmers' associations attended.

The 'Practice Safe Agriculture' campaign started as an activity to enhance the practical benefits for farmers on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of NongHyup's founding. Its goal is to raise farmers' awareness to proactively prevent accidents and effectively reduce the rate of agricultural work accidents.

By the end of this year, they plan to produce and promote accident prevention education and campaigns, including agricultural work safety exercises, agricultural machinery operation methods, accident prevention methods, as well as songs and advertisements conveying the campaign's purpose.

Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of NongHyup Central Association, said, "With the aging rural population and the widespread use of various agricultural machinery, the risk of farmers being exposed to agricultural work accidents is gradually increasing," adding, "I hope this will serve as an opportunity to garner empathy from farmers and the public regarding rural safety issues and disaster accident prevention."

Kim In-tae, CEO of NH NongHyup Life, said, "Through the Practice Safe Agriculture campaign, all executives and employees prioritize preventing various disaster accidents that may occur to farmers," and added, "We will do our best to create a safe and happy workplace where farmers can focus on agriculture."

Meanwhile, NH NongHyup Life is selling the 'Agricultural (Forestry) Worker NH Safety Insurance,' an industrial accident insurance for farmers. It covers bodily injuries and agricultural work-related diseases occurring during agricultural work, helping farmers in insurance blind spots to return to farming activities promptly.
