The COVID-19 Vaccination Implementation Promotion Team, led by Vice Mayor Jeong Jun-seok, is composed of a practical promotion group and five teams totaling 16 members: the overall implementation team, vaccine supply team, vaccination institution operation team, target management team, and adverse reaction management team. To promptly investigate and handle adverse reactions after COVID-19 vaccination, a public-private joint rapid response team composed of seven experts was formed.
An emergency hotline linking Jinju Fire Station 119, six emergency medical institutions, and public health centers was established to enable immediate response to severe adverse reactions such as anaphylaxis, thereby setting up an emergency response system.
Mayor Cho Gyu-il of Jinju City, who presided over this inspection meeting, stated, “To overcome COVID-19, it is most important that more than 70% of all citizens receive vaccination to form herd immunity,” and added, “We plan to fully mobilize all administrative power to open a vaccination center in March at the indoor comprehensive gymnasium in Chojun-dong and operate a COVID-19 vaccination information call center so that citizens can receive vaccinations safely and promptly.”
The vaccination target in Jinju City is approximately 204,000 people, corresponding to 70% of the population aged 18 and over. Vaccinations began on February 26 with workers and residents of nursing hospitals and facilities, and vaccinations will be completed by November in phases starting with priority groups.
