[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Mackiss Company announced that Chairman Cho Woong-rae received the Presidential Citation at the ‘10th National Recommendation Awards Ceremony’ held on the 3rd.
Chairman Cho was awarded the citation in recognition of his efforts over the past 16 years for the development of the Daejeon community and the trust and empathy of local citizens.
Since creating the Gyejoksan Hwangto Trail in 2006, Chairman Cho has borne an annual cost of 1 billion KRW to supply and manage the loess soil.
He also allocates a portion of the sales proceeds from products such as Ijeurin to support talent development in the Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam regions through the ‘Local Love Scholarship Campaign’ as part of his social contribution activities.
Since last year, Mackiss Company has set a goal to establish a total scholarship fund of 4 billion KRW over 10 years to nurture local talent. In the first year of the campaign, Mackiss Company awarded scholarships totaling over 308 million KRW.
In addition, Chairman Cho has practiced social contribution activities such as the Healing Mentor program for high school seniors through talent donation, serving as a promotional ambassador for the Year of Visit Daejeon, promoting public interest campaigns with soju bottle auxiliary labels, supporting water spraying trucks to combat heatwaves, and volunteering at flood recovery sites.
Chairman Cho said, “I am pleased that the community has recognized the management philosophy of ‘person to person’ and the work we have steadily pursued since 2006 for Creating Shared Value (CSV). Mackiss Company will continue to strive to be a company that enhances the value of the local community and works for the happiness of local residents.”
