Launch of the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Regional Council' in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 3rd that it held the launch ceremony of the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Regional Council.'


The council, established to build a community cooperation system necessary for rapid and safe vaccination, includes 21 participants such as medical experts, related organizations, and social group activists.


After the launch ceremony, the council members held a vaccination meeting on the same day.


During the meeting, the current status of COVID-19 vaccination preparations in Gwangsan-gu and future plans were shared, followed by medical expert consultations for safe vaccination.


Gwangsan-gu has formed a vaccination implementation promotion team consisting of 2 divisions and 4 teams, aiming to vaccinate about 280,000 residents, which is 70% of the district's population.


Since the 26th of last month, sequential vaccinations have been carried out starting with residents of nursing facilities and workers in high-risk medical institutions.


A Gwangsan-gu official said, "Over the past year, the solidarity and sacrifice of citizens and various organizations have protected the local community," adding, "We will minimize trial and error in vaccine administration through public-private cooperation."
