NCSoft and MBC Sign IP Joint Development Agreement... Creating Content Through Games and Dramas

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] NCSoft announced on the 3rd that it has signed a business agreement with MBC for joint development of IP (intellectual property rights).

According to the agreement, both companies will utilize their respective webtoons, web novels, games, movies, dramas, and other IPs as source materials to produce and present various content. They will also promote cooperation to create new IPs or discover external IPs.

NCSoft will be responsible for adapting the jointly developed IPs into webtoons, web novels, and games. MBC will handle the entire process of producing the IPs into video content.

The two companies also agreed to establish a long-term cooperative relationship that enables mutual growth through IP expansion. They plan to actively utilize the source data, various technologies and infrastructure, and global networks that each company possesses for IP and content development.

Min Boyoung, head of NCSoft's Content Business Division, said, "NCSoft and MBC are good partners who have what the other needs," adding, "If we collaborate based on each other's strengths, we can create opportunities to lead the cross-media market."
