Cable TV Broadcasting Association Announces Call for 12th President Candidates "We Will Select Transparently"

Candidate Document and Interview Screening Underway
Final Confirmation at the General Meeting at the End of This Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association has introduced an open recruitment method for the first time in several years in the process of selecting the 12th president. This reflects the intention to transparently select a president with greater expertise, given the numerous urgent challenges facing the cable TV industry.

The Cable TV Association announced on the 3rd that the open recruitment period will be 8 days, from 9 a.m. on the 4th to 6 p.m. on the 11th, and applications will be accepted through the association's website.

The association plans to form a presidential recommendation committee consisting of five members, including directors from comprehensive wired broadcasting operators (SO), program providers (PP), and external members. The committee will conduct document and interview evaluations and then select up to three times the number of candidates to recommend to the board of directors.

The candidates will include both those who apply through open recruitment and those recommended (by at least three association directors). Recommended candidates will not undergo document screening but will participate in the same interview evaluation.

The president will be appointed through the board of directors' selection process at the end of this month and finally confirmed at the general meeting.

An association official stated, "We hope many experts who can present a vision for the development and leap of the cable industry and have practical experience will come forward," adding, "Based on fairness and transparency, the recommendation committee, board of directors, and general meeting will carefully consider who is needed in the industry."

Prior to this, the association resolved at the board meeting held on the 19th of last month to appoint the president through an open recruitment process (including recommendations).
