Multiple COVID-19 Cases Confirmed During Self-Quarantine in Gwangju

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 3rd, three people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 on that day and were classified as cases 2100 to 2102.

Case 2100, a resident of Nam-gu, was classified as a contact of Gwangju case 2059, confirmed positive on the 26th, and while in self-quarantine, symptoms appeared, leading to testing and a positive result. The infection route of case 2059 has not yet been identified.

Case 2101 was in self-quarantine related to a family gathering during the recent Lunar New Year holiday and tested positive in a test conducted before the quarantine release.

The number of confirmed cases related to the Lunar New Year family gathering has increased to 22, including case 2101. Among them, 8 are family-related, 11 are related to Samsung Electronics Gwangju Plant, and 3 are related to the Pension Service.

One more confirmed case related to a Jeonbuk automobile factory has occurred, bringing the total to 9. Case 2102 is known to have developed symptoms while in self-quarantine related to the Jeonbuk automobile factory.
