[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 3rd that it has selected the recipients (teams) of the 'Youth Challenge Support Project,' which was open for applications to realize the challenging spirit of local youth and to form social networks, and will begin full-scale support starting this month.
The project areas include 'Operation of Youth Capacity Building Programs,' 'Performances, Exhibitions, Cultural Events, and Discovery of Youth Culture,' 'Activation of Healthy Youth Communities,' and 'Tourism, Food, Accommodation, and Promotion,' supporting small-scale project expenses based on innovative ideas from youth.
To promote the project, the city conducted a public contest from January to February targeting groups or organizations of three or more youth aged 19 to 39 within the jurisdiction.
Among the five teams that participated in the contest, all five teams were selected for the project after presentation, evaluation, Q&A with judges, review of eligibility as subsidy recipients, and consulting.
The project names (teams) are 'Free Suit Rental Project (Naju Youth Chamber of Commerce),' 'Youth Talent Sharing Concert (Naju Youth Policy Council Cultural Arts Division),' 'Youth Busking and Photo Contest (Jamming),' and 'Photo Shooting to Record the Old Scenery of the Original Downtown (People Who Believe in Naju),' receiving subsidies ranging from 1 million to 3 million won and are scheduled to be active until the end of October.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "The diverse and innovative ideas of youth that allow citizens to come together are eye-catching," and added, "We will not spare interest and support so that vitality can be added to the local atmosphere, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19."
