Gyeongnam and Busan Launch 'Southeast Region Food Community'... First Supply of 3 Tons of Eco-Friendly Potatoes On-site shipment photo

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as the first achievement after establishing the Gyeongnam-Busan metropolitan food plan supply system, 3 tons of eco-friendly potatoes produced in Gyeongnam were supplied to Busan on the 3rd of last month.

This first supply was directly delivered from Gyeongnam to Busan and supplied to 87 elementary schools in Dongnae-gu, as well as Geumjeong-gu, Busan Jin-gu, Dong-gu, and Jung-gu.

Subsequently, supply began to centers in Gangseo-gu and Gijang-gun, expanding supply to schools in the Busan area.

The Gyeongnam-Busan school meal service is a core part of realizing the Southeast region food community and is the first step in the detailed implementation plan of the public food supply system established in last year's metropolitan food plan.

Until next year, priority will be given to supplying school meal ingredients, and from 2023, supply will be gradually expanded to public institutions, welfare facilities, and other public meal service areas.

After 2024, there are plans to stably supply public meal ingredients worth 200 billion KRW.

To this end, on the 26th of last month, the two organizations held a council for the Gyeongnam-Busan win-win agreement, sharing the value of realizing a food community and agreeing to maintain a continuous cooperation system for rural-urban win-win in the future.
