[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yu Deok-yeol) is operating an online expectant mothers' class to address the questions of expectant mothers from pregnancy to childbirth.
Dongdaemun-gu has prepared an expectant mothers' class with specialized medical staff from Kyung Hee Medical Center to support the precious pregnancy and healthy childbirth of expectant mothers who find it difficult to visit hospitals due to COVID-19.
The online expectant mothers' class consists of lectures that help the health of mothers and babies from pregnancy preparation to postnatal care, including ▲Preparation for a precious pregnancy ▲Prenatal care for a healthy baby and happy delivery ▲Newborn care ▲Postpartum depression.
From March to December, the class is held in real-time via the video conferencing platform Zoom every last Thursday of the month from 2:00 PM for 50 minutes, where specialized medical staff from obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and psychiatry introduce valuable health information.
Expectant mothers can freely communicate with medical staff to resolve questions and anxieties related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare.
The online expectant mothers' class recruits the first 100 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis and can be applied for through the ‘Citizen Participation - Online Application’ section on the Dongdaemun-gu website.
Applicants will be individually notified of the URL to participate in the expectant mothers' class on the day of the education.
