Suncheon-si, Recruiting 9th Class Trainees for Basic Agricultural Product Processing Startup Course

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 2nd that it is recruiting students for the 9th Basic Course on Agricultural Product Processing Startups to expand the production and sales of processed products at the Agricultural Product Comprehensive Processing Support Center.

This training is a basic course where expert instructors from each field are invited to teach understanding of agricultural product processing startups, food-related regulations, agricultural food certification systems, distribution, and marketing methods. It will be held twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays) from the 10th to the 31st.

Those who complete the training will be eligible to apply for advanced courses and join the Suncheon Agricultural Product Processing Center Agricultural Cooperative Corporation. Upon joining the corporation, they will receive support for using the processing center equipment as well as for startups through new product development.

Applicants must be agricultural workers or citizens residing in Suncheon City with their resident registration address in Suncheon as of the application date. They must submit an application form along with supporting documents such as an agricultural management entity certificate or agricultural support book (if applicable) by visiting the Eup/Myeon/Dong administrative welfare center or sending via fax or email by the 7th.

The city plans to finalize about 25 trainees based on priority given to agricultural workers and others through a review of the applicants.

Meanwhile, Suncheon City has decided to waive the usage fees for the Agricultural Product Processing Center until June to provide practical support to agricultural product processing farms struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
