A Message to Overcome Trials by Harnessing the Power of Love
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] 'It is about protecting, it is about watching. To love is'
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 2nd that it has renovated the Gwanghwamun signboard to welcome spring. This spring edition of the Gwanghwamun signboard was taken from the poem "Love" by poet Jeon Bong-geon. Jeon Bong-geon is recognized as a representative poet of post-war modernism in the history of Korean poetry.
Although many people are suffering due to COVID-19, the message conveys the power of love that empathizes with others' pain as if it were one's own and sincerely encourages overcoming the current hardships.
A Kyobo Life Insurance official said, "The reason humanity was able to protect communities and achieve prosperity despite numerous challenges is because of the uniquely human value called love," adding, "Although the reality is tough due to COVID-19, we selected this phrase to welcome spring with hope, believing in the greatness of love."
The design of the signboard draws attention by embodying the value of love that humans possess through the image of a child cherishing and loving a small life.
The Gwanghwamun signboard has been delivering messages of hope and love to passersby for over 30 years since 1991. The spring edition of the Gwanghwamun signboard will be displayed until the end of May at the Gwanghwamun Kyobo Life Insurance Building and Gangnam Kyobo Tower, among other locations.
