[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] On the 2nd, Mokpo City in Jeonnam announced that it conducted COVID-19 vaccinations (AstraZeneca) for 100 workers and residents of nursing facilities at the Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium.
The city plans to vaccinate 360 nursing facility workers at the Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium by the 5th. Additionally, for those with mobility difficulties, the Health Promotion and Visiting Vaccination Team will visit nursing facilities on the 3rd and 4th to administer vaccinations.
Mayor Kim Jongsik visited the Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium to check the vaccination status, encourage vaccination workers, and inquire about the well-being of nursing facility staff.
The city originally planned to conduct vaccinations for nursing facility workers at Hadang Health Center, but changed the location to the Mokpo Indoor Gymnasium after a Hadang Health Center employee tested positive for COVID-19 on the 26th of last month.
Vaccinations for 1,200 workers and residents of nursing hospitals began on the 26th of last month at Chamsarang Nursing Hospital and will continue at each hospital according to their own vaccination plans until the 5th.
Meanwhile, as 19 Hadang Health Center employees (all negative) were placed under two weeks of self-quarantine, the city established a vaccination system led by the deputy mayor as the general director to ensure smooth vaccination progress and prevent work gaps.
In addition, the Director of the Safety City Construction Bureau and staff from the Safety General Division were dispatched to the health center to provide administrative support.
