[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 2nd that it has launched the first SUV of Mercedes-Maybach, 'The New Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC,' in the domestic market.
Mercedes-Benz Korea explained that The New Mercedes-Maybach GLS combines luxurious interior and exterior features with various safety and convenience options. On the front, the iconic Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star emblem is placed on the hood, along with Multibeam LED headlamps and a chrome front apron (air brake plate). On the side, the Maybach brand emblem is applied, and the rear features Maybach lettering. When opening the vehicle doors, the body slightly lowers and aluminum electronic running boards appear to assist convenient entry and exit.
The interior comes standard with Mercedes' unique Designo leather package, featuring Nappa leather on the front and roof liner. A new wood material steering wheel and two large 12.3-inch screens are also installed. The Mercedes-Maybach exclusive MBUX system with the added Maybach Classic Mode is equipped.
The New Mercedes-Maybach GLS offers spacious rear seating based on the generous body of the GLS. The wheelbase measures 3,135 mm, and the rear legroom is 1,103 mm, which can extend up to 1,340 mm by moving the front seats forward. The rear seats include convenience features such as ▲MBUX rear seat entertainment system with two 11.6-inch Full HD touchscreens ▲two Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth headsets and a tablet to control the system ▲Energizing Package Plus to adjust the interior environment ▲Energizing Coach that diagnoses the driver's condition ▲heated comfort package providing heating functions for armrests and door panels.
The New Mercedes-Maybach GLS is equipped with a 4-liter V8 M177 gasoline engine delivering a maximum output of 557 horsepower and a peak torque of 74.4 kg·m. Additionally, it includes an integrated starter generator and a 48V electrical system that provide an extra 22 horsepower and 25.5 kg·m of torque when needed. Autonomous driving features include the latest version of the Driving Assistance Package Plus, equipped with ▲Active Speed Limit Assist ▲Route-based Speed Adaptation ▲Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC ▲PRE-SAFE Impulse Side, among others. The Maybach Drive Program, focusing on rear passenger comfort, is also included.

The price of The New Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC is 256.6 million KRW.
