K Shopping Launches K Play Service... "Shopping and Content Viewing at Once" K Shopping has launched a new service called 'K Play'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] K Shopping announced on the 2nd that it has launched a new service called ‘K Play,’ the first in the home shopping industry to allow users to shop and watch movies for free on mobile.

K Shopping plans to offer a variety of VOD content for free, including classic movies, popular overseas series, and animations, while expanding the range of content with informational and entertainment videos featuring celebrities, creators, and experts.

K Play is available to anyone who signs up for K Shopping without the need to install a separate app or pay for a membership. Through the existing K Shopping mobile app, users can enjoy over 2,200 video contents anytime and anywhere without limits.

To celebrate the launch of the service, K Shopping is running a promotion until the 21st, giving all customers who watch K Play and enter the event page a 10,000 KRW credit for K Shopping.

K Shopping plans to break down platform boundaries between TV and mobile by rapidly expanding mobile live and TV MCN services to build an integrated commerce platform. Additionally, it will actively utilize the K Play service to produce informational and entertainment content with experts, celebrities, and creators from various fields, allowing users to enjoy content without platform or time restrictions.

Kim Taehwan, Executive Vice President of KTH, stated, “We will break away from the notion that home shopping is only for shopping by enabling customers to watch movies and informative content so they can enjoy the service all day long.” He added, “Through the organic synergy of existing K Shopping TV broadcasts, TV MCN, mobile live, and the newly introduced mobile video service K Play, we plan to evolve into a content commerce platform that transcends media without being limited to a single platform such as TV or mobile.”
