[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] In Gyeongsangbuk-do, the number of new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases remained at 4 on the 1st. There were 3 cases of overseas infections.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 2nd, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area increased by 7 from the previous day to 3,273 (including 65 overseas cases).
New confirmed cases by region were 2 in Gyeongsan City, 1 each in Gyeongju City and Uiseong County, and 1 overseas imported case each in Gumi City, Sangju City, and Cheongsong County.
The 2 new confirmed cases in Gyeongsan and 1 in Gyeongju were contacts of previously confirmed cases (Gyeongsan case No. 905, Ulsan case No. 978) and were confirmed positive while under self-quarantine.
In Uiseong County, 1 contact of Uiseong case No. 68, confirmed on the 19th, tested positive while under self-quarantine.
In Gumi, Sangju, and Cheongsong, 1 person each tested positive as overseas imported cases. As a result, the daily number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area dropped back to single digits after rising to double digits at 13 cases (3 overseas imported) the previous day for the first time in five days.
In Gyeongbuk Province, 52 people (excluding overseas imported cases) tested positive across the region over the past week, resulting in a weekly daily average of 7.4 confirmed cases. Currently, 1,959 residents are under self-quarantine, down by 44 from the previous day.
