[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…Ko Jin-young (26) firmly maintained her position as ‘Number 1’.


In the weekly women's golf world rankings announced on the morning of the 2nd (Korean time), she scored 9.22 points, continuing to lead in first place. She has held the top spot for 1 year and 8 months since July 2019. She is ahead by a significant 1.49 points from second place Kim Sei-young (28, Mirae Asset, 7.73 points). She accumulated points by finishing 4th in the Gainbridge LPGA (total prize money $2 million) held at Lake Nona Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, USA, which ended the day before.


‘Gainbridge LPGA Champion’ Nelly Korda (USA, 7.45 points) pushed Park In-bee (33, KB Financial Group, 6.56 points) down to 4th place and rose to 3rd. Danielle Kang (USA) is 5th (6.28 points), Brooke Henderson (Canada) 6th (5.58 points), Hataoka Nasa (Japan) 7th (5.43 points), and Lee Min-ji (Australia) is 8th (5.08 points). Korea’s Kim Hyo-joo (26, Lotte) is 9th (4.90 points), Park Sung-hyun (28) 11th (4.46 points), and Lee Jeong-eun 6 (25, Daebang Construction) is 12th (4.13 points).
