Eligible participants are non-commercial passenger cars and vans (12 seats or fewer) powered by gasoline, diesel, or LPG. Vehicles owned by corporations or organizations, commercial vehicles, and eco-friendly vehicles (electric, hybrid, hydrogen, etc.) are excluded.
The nationwide recruitment quota is 7,000 vehicles. Gyeongsangbuk-do can accept up to 653 vehicles on a first-come, first-served basis across its 23 cities and counties.
Jo Gwang-rae, Director of the Environment, Forestry and Resources Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do, urged, "As interest in climate change is becoming a national and social issue recently, we ask many residents to participate in the automobile carbon point system operation project and contribute to reducing greenhouse gases."
