Starting from the 26th, COVID-19 Vaccinations Begin for Residents and Workers Under 65 in Nursing Hospitals and Facilities... 'Gangdong-gu Vaccination Response Task Force' Formed to Mobilize District Resources for Vaccination Efforts
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will begin COVID-19 vaccinations on the 26th for residents and workers under the age of 65 in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities.
The vaccination will start with about 5,800 priority recipients in February to March (Q1), and then expand to all residents except pregnant women and those under 18 years old.
To ensure a systematic COVID-19 vaccination process, the district formed the 'Gangdong-gu Vaccination Response Task Force' on January 25 and has been thoroughly preparing since then.
The vaccines, which arrived at 11:30 a.m. on the 25th, one day before the first vaccination, are safely stored in a dedicated vaccine refrigerator maintained at 2~8℃. At 5 p.m., a pre-simulation including recipient verification and preliminary examination was conducted at the health center, the vaccination site, completing all preparations for a safe and prompt vaccination.
The vaccinations will be carried out through nursing hospital self-administration, walk-in vaccinations at the health center, and visiting vaccinations by medical staff to nursing facilities. The district has deployed personnel and resources meticulously, prioritizing the safety of residents.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “We are mobilizing all of the district’s capabilities to ensure residents can receive the vaccine safely,” and added, “We will remain vigilant and do our best until all residents have completed their vaccinations.”
