Hapcheon-gun Installs 80 Security CCTV Cameras at 40 Vulnerable Locations Hapcheon-gun CCTV Integrated Control Center


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that it will additionally install 80 security CCTV cameras in 40 vulnerable safety areas so that residents can enjoy a safer daily life without fear of various crimes and incidents.


From the 16th to the 23rd, the county's CCTV Integrated Control Center conducted on-site surveys and suitability evaluations for crime prevention environment creation targeting 17 vulnerable safety areas in the county's towns and townships to install CCTV.


The CCTV installation is scheduled to be completed in May after an administrative notice for public opinion collection until the 16th of next month. Hapcheon-gun CCTV Integrated Control Center was opened in 2016 and has about 940 CCTV cameras installed.


Since its opening, the CCTV Integrated Control Center has contributed to preventing about 600 accidents and solving cases through real-time monitoring of five major violent crimes, various disasters, and safety accidents, as well as rapid communication with related agencies.


Moon Jun-hee, mayor of Hapcheon-gun, stated, “The Hapcheon-gun CCTV Integrated Control Center will do its best to perform a more thorough, customized crime prevention role for the residents in the future.”
