[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] On the 26th, Gwangju Metropolitan City signed the 81st business agreement with MegazoneCloud Co., Ltd., a specialized company in artificial intelligence cloud services and digital solutions, at the Megazone building in Gangnam, Seoul, to establish a Gwangju-type AI business foundation and actively cooperate in creating an AI ecosystem in Gwangju through the establishment of a Gwangju corporation or regional office.
MegazoneCloud Co., Ltd. is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner and the first company in Korea to provide cloud services.
The main business models include ▲public cloud MSP (operation management) business ▲SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions (Hyper Billing, Watch, Browser, Checker, Control, Ops, CDN, Render) business ▲AI cloud platform construction and AI development services ▲cloud education business ▲digital solution construction and application development business.
Through the business agreement, MegazoneCloud Co., Ltd. plans to actively cooperate in nurturing specialized talent in AI cloud services and digital solutions and creating new jobs in the Gwangju area by establishing a Gwangju corporation or regional office.
The main contents of the agreement are ▲technical and policy consultation related to AI cloud services and digital solutions ▲promotion of establishing a Gwangju corporation or branch office for talent development and job creation in AI cloud services and digital solutions ▲collaboration in education in AI and cloud fields, consulting for global expansion of AI-attracting companies and local companies ▲development and operation of various corporate support programs and corporate promotion to create an AI industry ecosystem ▲planning and promotion of specialized personnel education and employment programs in the AI field.
Lee Joo-wan, CEO of MegazoneCloud, said, “Based on long-standing cloud and AI technology capabilities, we will strive to provide related technology and consulting so that AI companies can receive the best cloud services,” and added, “We will also actively cooperate in AI cloud services and specialized talent development.”
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “Gwangju is establishing the largest AI cluster in Korea to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution, and on the 4th, held an investment agreement and groundbreaking ceremony for a world-class national AI data center. Despite the difficulties of COVID-19, the AI-centered city project supporting the success of the Korean New Deal is progressing well,” and added, “We will concentrate all capabilities to create the best AI ecosystem so that new jobs can be created.”
