[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 26th, Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced that it will implement a low-emission vehicle support project to reduce emissions from old diesel vehicles.


The project plans to provide a total of 410 million KRW in support, including 190 million KRW for diesel particulate filter (DPF) installation support (about 50 vehicles), 138 million KRW for PM-NOx simultaneous reduction devices (about 8 vehicles), and 82 million KRW for construction machinery engine replacement (about 5 vehicles).


The support targets are vehicles registered in Miryang City as of the application date with emission grade 5 for DPF installation, and diesel vehicles registered between 2002 and 2007 with engine displacement of 5,800 to 17,000 cc and power output of 240 to 460 ps for PM-NOx device installation.


Additionally, for construction machinery engine replacement, owners of forklifts and excavators registered in Miryang City equipped with Tier-1 or lower engines are eligible. This includes machinery manufactured before 2004, those between 75 kW and less than 130 kW manufactured before 2005, and those under 75 kW manufactured before 2006.


Applications can be submitted from March 2 to 15 through the city hall website, the Environmental Management Division of city hall, or the Eup/Myeon/Dong administrative welfare centers.
