On the same day, Hong said on his Facebook, "In the two by-elections for sexual harassment, where we should have been overwhelmingly dominant, our candidates were disparaged, and while failing to play the role of the opposition party properly, only acting spitefully, we ended up creating a stage where those who actually committed wrongdoings are running amok."

He added, "The presidential election is just around the corner. How much more must we suffer before the opposition party comes to its senses?"

Earlier, on the 20th, Hong also posted on his Facebook, seemingly targeting Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, saying, "Now that Ahn Cheol-soo, who should be united, is being disparaged and ignored by Chairman Kim Jong-in due to personal feelings, Ahn Cheol-soo's support is actually rising and solidifying," and added, "Having advocated for a three-way winning theory, I will watch how this is managed."

At that time, he raised his voice, saying, "Today, the media is also writing about why the People Power Party candidates are failing to gain momentum in the Seoul mayoral election, which should have been the opposition party's domain," criticizing Chairman Kim for not properly leading the People Power Party.
